O artigo analisa as dinâmicas interacionais de jovens frequentadores de bailes Charme no Rio de Janeiro, um ambiente de lazer noturno caracterizado pela valorização da estética negra. O objetivo foi compreender os diversos significados relativos à cor e ao gênero nas interações afetivo-sexuais de homens e mulheres, tendo por base a observação etnográfica dos bailes e entrevistas com jovens de cores diversificadas. Os achados indicam que no baile Charme prevalece um estilo de masculinidade viril, que contrasta com outros estilos comuns a espaços de lazer e sociabilidade juvenil, no Rio de Janeiro.

The article analyzes the dynamics of social interaction among young people who attend the Charm´s balls in Rio de Janeiro, an night leisure environment characterized by the positive view of the black aesthetic. Based on ethnographic observation and on interviews with youth of diverse colors, we aim to understand the means of color and gender in the sexual and affective interactions of men and women. The findings indicate that prevails in the Charm´s balls an style of virile masculinity, which contrasts with other styles indentified in leisure spaces of youth sociability in Rio de Janeiro.
