摘要:In this work an application of image enhancementtechniques in fingerprints is presented. Digital Image-processing technology was applied to restored fingerprintswith non-uniform contrast. These fingerprintscorresponded to unidentified persons who were murderedby Military Forces in 1976.In 1997, after a court decision, Human RightOrganisations acceded to the microfilms of the ComputerRecords Division of the Province of Buenos Aires Police, which contained fingerprints and complementaryinformation from these missing people. Unfortunatelymost of the fingerprints were taken with a reduction ratioof 41x, they were blurred and their spatial definition wasnot clear. These features made their classification andcomparison very difficult. In this paper a combination of spatial, frequency andmorphological enhancement techniques used to restore thefingerprints is presented. Filters had to be combinedbecause the results obtained by applying conventionalenhancement techniques were not satisfactory. The resulting images show prominent features infingerprints that cannot be extracted by other enhancementtechniques
