摘要：I was aimed to apprehend the social representations about the offered care in diabetes mellitus. This qualitative study was developed in a Basic Unit of health in Jequi¨¦. Twenty five diabetics participated in the semi-structural interview. They constructed two categories: the care received and the care desired. The first one is based on physical, biological and educative aspects the other one is based on the affective aspects. These results showed that the professional¡¯s health must take in consideration the representations, faiths, attitudes and expectations of the diabetics while products and producing of a social reality.
