This article aims at discussing the interface between education and communication based on the contemporary school’s context. The text analyzes the school’s social place and the importance of contemporary communication processes in the redefinition of ways of seeing the school itself and the youth’s world. Furthermore, it discusses the terminology intended to approach this interface, such as " Educommunication", Media-Education and Education for the critical use of media , in order to examine the experience of extension in the project TVez: Education for the critical use of media , which operates in public schools in the metropolitan area of Fortaleza.
