This article aims at demonstrating that respecting learner uniqueness is at the heart of the Pedagogy of Actualization, that is, an approach whose goal is the actualization of the full human potential. Following a discussion about factors underlying each person's uniqueness, the author focuses on human capacities for self-regulation and autonomy. He proposes a pedagogical approach that emphasizes self-determination and students taking charge of their learning and life projects. It is an approach that leads students to become aware of their uniqueness and to fully realize the meaning of their differences through their relationships with others.
