摘要：This essay examines the impact of the emigrant's emotion upon the perception of their surroundings. Drawing comparisons between 19th century botanist Georgiana Molloy's response to the West Australian bush, and the author's own reaction to London, White illustrates how intense bodily experiences can engender a strong attachment to or repulsion against an environment.
