Dr. Ken Cheng, FPSA, PPSA, chairman of the International Affairs committee, announces the name of the new Editor of International News Notes (INN) effective December 1st, 2004. Cindy Thomas will succeed Amy McMillan, APSA, who has left the position due to health reasons. Cindy will also serve on the International Affairs Committee. Dr Cheng and the Journal appreciate the work of Amy and wish her the best for the future.
The Journal welcomes Mrs. Thomas, who holds degrees in education, has worked as a middle school teacher and is presently employed as a literacy coach for the school district near her home. She is a member of the Hub Camera Club and especially enjoys nature and people photography.

In Northern Focus, the journal of Northern Counties Photographic Federation (NCPF), several society members were noted in articles:
Ray Wallace Thompson, Hon. PSA, FPSA, had a one-man print exhibition, "70 Years Behind the Lens," at a museum's photo gallery; Jane Black, APSA, was the recipient of Photographic Alliance Great Britain (PAGB) J.S. Lancaster (service) medal: Alan Millward, FPSA, was a judging panel member for PAGB's Inter-club Slide Championship venue; and PSA's Executive Vice President, Fred Greene, FPSA, EPSA, was a judge for NCPF's International Exhibition.

INDIA
On the occasion of World Photography Day (August 19th) and the 57th year of India's independence, the India International Photographic Council (IIPC) organized a number of programs, including the International Exhibition of the India Print Circuit [recognized by both the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and IIPC]. There were more than 500 photographic artists from 40 countries entered, who submitted over 5000 prints. The exhibition consisted of most of the divisions of photography and revealed the beauty, charm, and grace of human life as well as of flora and fauna; selected images were displayed. Other activities included the presentation of various annual awards, plus a two-day workshop on electronic imaging was organized for the local members and delegates from various parts of the country.
Over 75 awards were presented. The highest honor of the council was conferred on Tony Patti, Hon. PSA, FPSA, the chairman of PSA Historical Research committee. He was elected Honorary Member of the Council, Hon. IIPC, for his services to photography for over 60 years on an international basis. The Lifetime Achievement Award and World Photography Day Award were conferred on Mr. T.N.A. Perumal and Mr. N.A. Bharti respectively. The exhibition and other programs were held at Ajanta Art Gallery, Azad Bhavan, New Delhi, and were visited by hundreds daily for a week. The council also received news from throughout the country of various programs that were organized on the occasion of World Photography Day by photographic federations, societies, associations, and clubs. The chief guest was Mr. Dibang, Executive Editor of "ND TV," one of the most popular news channels of India. World Photography Day in India was considered a grand success.
