Wyse Solutions in Health Care

U.S. health care facilities complying with standards of patient privacy and security can achieve HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996) and CPOE (Computer Physician Order Entry) compliance with Wyse Integrated Solutions.

Thin clients are compatible with such features as touchscreen support, hardened keyboards, smart cards, barcode readers, handheld scanners, label printers for patient wristband identification, biometric devices, and more. In fact, health care providers attempting to comply with HIPAA and CPOE have reduced medical errors and lowered CNST (Clinical Negligence Insurance) contributions with some of these devices. For example, with PPID (Positive Patient Identification), health professionals scanning a patient's unique wristband identifier are able to know the exact time a patient was administered medication and not accidentally duplicate the dosage because the time was not marked on a paper-based medical record. Doctors visiting patients can login to any Winterm thin client or carry a mobile thin client and issue a prescription to the pharmacy in less than the time it would take to write it down on a slip of paper, then walked to the pharmacy - avoiding the patient's wait in line to submit the prescription and the chance of a pharmacist misreading the prescription.

Wyse is experienced in creating technical strategies to electronically convert medical records to ensure patient confidentiality; provide staff with secure, remote data access; and improve patient care and workplace productivity. Wyse Integrated Solutions is good risk management.

Wireless Mobile Workstation The wireless mobile workstation from Flo Healthcare is a mobile medical workstation which allows health care professionals to access electronic health records (EHR) from any wireless enabled location within a medical facility.

This medical cart design safely encloses the secure, manageable, affordable, reliable Winterm™ thin client in a thick metal housing and incorporates wireless LEAP technology. Easy to move and use, every component of the workstation is designed to the UL2601-1 safety standard for medical devices.

Wyse and Identix Biometric Solution The best security solution may be at the tip of our fingers with Wyse and Identix biometric solutions, By reducing desktop ROI and streamlining the authentication process for both system and user, thanks to the reduction in password administration time and cost, biometric solutions help keep networks free from unwanted intrusions and other security breaches. Biometrics are becoming the top choice for user authentication and HIPAA compliance, ensuring individuals are who they say they are - increasing the already outstanding security inherent of a Winterm™ thin client environment.

Wyse Local Smart Card Solution The Wyse smart card-based authentication and digital signature solution can be used for securing remote access, local login, email, and other applications or as a key component to your secure thin-client environment. The smart card can quickly and easily bring up the networked applications without requiring the user to login multiple times, saving time and increasing productivity. The Wyse Local Smart Card solution is the most cost-effective and easy to implement in the industry.

The presence of processing capability and memory in a smart card, along with the smart card's ability to support multiple applications, make smart cards an efficient and flexible mechanism that can help organizations achieve HIPAA compliance while meeting the goals of patients and practitioners. Systems that use smart cards as the identity token and secure data carrier can provide easier information access management, ensuring that users are following established security policies; help enforce access control to health information, providing support for both user authentication and encryption of data on the card and during transmission; and store health information on the card, performing as secure portable data carriers that are under the control of the patient and the health care professional.
