THE head of one of Scotland's richest families is embroiled in a bitter dispute with locals in his home village - after they scuppered his plan to build luxury homes on his estate.

Millionaire landlord Andros Stakis, who was head of his family hotel business, lost his pounds 2million deal when the locals of Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, objected to the development.

Now he has told them that if he can't use the land, no one else can and is threatening to fence off a popular playing field and let it grow wild.
