摘要：Just like the memory of individuals, societies, also, have memory. The past event, which has an impact on human beings and is transferred from generation to generation by ritual, ceremony, icon or different communication methods, is presented to the society after experiencing a number of changes. A selected part of the past event, which is not transferred by pure purity, is sometimes transferred, sometimes ignored, and sometimes reconstructed according to the conjuncture. Today, media has taken an important duty of reminding the past event most efficiently to great populations. In other words, the consciousnesses have been influenced by the media's agenda, regardless of whether they are in the face of or with the ideology shaped by the media. When we consider the functions of the media promising freedom and fulfillment, it is clear that it will recall the past which has an undeniable power in guiding the society within the framework of the ideology of the master. In this study, it is examined how the events experienced in the period of February 28, which had a profound impact on the society, were reminded to the society and what kind of public opinion was tried to be created from 1998 up today by the newspapers. In this context, it is aimed to put forward the postmodern coup of February 28 on on the agenda of the two newspapers have different ideologies and their discourses that changed during the 21 year period. News texts were analyzed through critical discourse analysis. The conclusion of the study was that the event was being reoccurring on the anniversary of February 28, in various context in line with the newapapers ideology and requirements.
