标题：Influence d'un programme d'orientation-mobilité sur les capacités de localisation auditive de personnes sourdes-aveugles

摘要：Les habiletés de localisation auditive de quatre participants présentant une surdi-cécité ont été evaluées périodiquement avant, pendant et aprés l'introduction d'un programme d'adaptation en orientation-mobilité. Un questionnaire d'auto-évaluation des capacités de localisation a aussi été complété avant et après la réalisation du programme. Les analyses descriptives démontrent que l'introduction du programme d'orientation-mobilité n'a pas eu d'effet significatif sur les habiletés de localisation auditive des participants. Le continu du programme, tel qu'il fut expérimenté, pourrait ne pas être adéquat pour améliorer ces habiletés. D'autre part, il demeure possible que la performance de localisation ne puisse être améliorée, soit parce que c'est une habilité qui ne peut faire l'objet d'un apprentissage, soit parce que les participants présentent une performance déjà trop bonne pour être améliorée. Enfin, le test de localisation pourrait ne pas être suffisamment sensible pour mettre en évidence un changement de performance. Sound localisation abilities in four subjects presenting a visual and hearing impairment were assessed before, during, and after an orientation and mobility intervention program. A self-assessment questionnaire of localisation abilities was also completed before and after the completion of the program. Descriptive analyses showed that the orientation and mobility intervention program did not have any significant effect on the participants' sound localisation abilities. The content of the program, as studied, may not have been adequate to improve these abilities. It is also possible that localisation performance could not be improved, either because this ability cannot be learned, or the participants' performances were already too good to be improved. Finally, the localisation test may not have been sufficiently sensitive to identify a change in performance.
