摘要：On the example of the charitable activities of Vyatka merchant of the second Guild Pavel Petrovich Klobukov in the article the questions connected with development in pre-revolutionary Russia defectological education. The author has used a wide range of historical documents from Central and regional archives, and the periodicals of the second half of XIX – early XX century Diverse source base has allowed to reconstruct the main landmarks of the biography of the entrepreneur and to characterize its social, commercial and charitable activities. It was established that P.P. Hoods was one of the major supporters of Vyatka province and its administrative center. The merchant has made a significant contribution to the work of local authorities, contributed to the expansion of the network of charitable agencies in the region. One of the most significant merits of P.P. Klobukova was the opening in Vyatka the first and subsequently the only school for blind children, which successfully functioned in the provincial centre until 1917.
