摘要：Historiography of the Novohispanic Church has studied the numerous scenarios in which the conflict between the regular and secular clergy was evident. This paper illustrates its manifestations in the foundation and establishment processes of La Concepción and Santa Clara Convents in Mexico City in the second half of the sixteenth century. The study deals primarily with the confrontation between the diocesan and Franciscan clergy regarding the appropriation of urban space.
