  • 摘要:This bilingual (Tukuya/Tukano-Portuguese) article presents the intervention of the Diroá in defense of their “mother’s children” (mother’s sisters’ children, that is, non-marriageable peoples) after the attack of the pajés. The text is a form of protection of the human being against the destructive forces of human enemies. The elder Pedro, of the Tuyuka people, narrated it in 2015. Justino Sarmiento, doctoral candidate (of the Tuyuka people) in social anthropology at the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology of the Universidade Federal do Amazonas (Manaus, Brazil), conducted the translation and anthropological analysis of the text.
