  • 摘要:The electric utility business is an inherently dangerous area to work in with employees exposed to manypotential hazards daily. One such hazard is an arc flash. An arc flash is a rapid release of energy, referred to as incidentenergy, caused by an electric arc.In this project, we are going to take 3 bus systems with the load of 3000 houses. The arc will be created when the bussystem change over due to voltage failure, switch disconnect, circuit breaker failure and relay failure. We can’t predictthe level of the arc before its creating. We are using matlab software to find the created arc level. In that first we willcreate the generator part, and then will pass the supply to the load with the help of bus system. When, changeover of thebus system, within a short period, the voltage and current value will be simultaneously increase. So we can calculatethe voltage and current to get the energy value released. We use emperical equation to find the arc value. To get thedifference between current failure and fault failure, we use Linearity of Incident Energy.This report goes into the depth of the history of arc-flash hazards, analysis methods, both software and empiricalderived equations, issues of concern with calculation methods and the work conducted at power transmission system.This work also produced two offline software products to conduct and verify an offline arc-flash hazard analysis
