摘要：This article analyses the opposed visions held by some popular sectors of Mexico City, as well as by a portion of members of the Spanish population, in the frame of the annual celebration of Independence, during the last decade of the XIXth Century. From the perspective of «ethnicities in conflict», the work analyses the hispanophobia and indophobia expressed by such social actors. The study is based on the chronicles of events published by Mexico City in regard to the conflicts that took place yearly, during that festivity
